A Limited Lifetime ENDURACOTE Paint Warranty

This is intended to be a simple overview of the Fabral Roofing Warranty.

This is not, let me repeat, this is not the Fabral Roofing Warranty nor is it in any way an official document from Fabral.

For a more detailed and accurate statement you must request a copy of the actual warranty from Fabral or see below for access to a "sample" of the Fabral warranty.

What follows is some of the highlights of the warranty in an attempt to be helpful to you, the prospective buyer. This may help you get through some of the legalese, however, I would encourage you to obtain the warranty and carefully read it before buying.

The Fabral Roofing Warranty is written as a Limited Lifetime on the ENDURACOTE paint Finish. In other words Fabral, and other metal roofing panel manufactures, believe there is no need to warranty the metal itself but rather they warranty their trademarked coating process only, in Fabral's case it is named, "ENDURACOTE". After all metal has a way of hanging around for a very long time.

The Warranty is expressed as guaranteeing the Fabral metal roofing panels within the continental USA. The above panels are guaranteed that normal outdoor atmospheric conditions will not cause the exterior side paint on the “ENDURACOTE” (a trademarked process) galvanized steel roofing and siding panels to:

1. Crack, Check, or Peel for the lifetime of the building

2. Chalk in excess of a numerical rating of eight (8) for vertical siding, or of six (6) for roofing panels for a period of 30 years.

3. Fade or change in color in excess of five (5) units of color for vertical siding or in excess of seven (7) units of color for roofing for a period of 30 years.

Color units are as per the Hunter AE units when measured in accordance with the standard procedure specified in ASTM D-2244 (latest).

4. Exhibit accumulations of red dust caused by acid rain on non-vertical installations of ENDURACOTE painted panels for ten (10) years .

The Fabral Warranty is also specific as to roof pitch in that you can invalidate you warranty if your roof pitch is less than the following for specified profiles:

Grandrib 3, must not be less than 2 ½:12
Alu-Tuff II, must not be less than 2 ½:12
5V crimp must not be less than a 2 1/2: 12
Prime Rib, must not be less than 2 ½:12
Mighty Rib, must not be less than 1:12
Ultra Rib, must not be less than 1:12

Additional Rules
There are a few additional rules that must be followed in order to have your Fabral Roofing Warranty honored. They are:

Do not apply Fabral Panels over treated wood. The actual warranty lists a number of treatments that apply.

You must insulate your panels properly between any dissimilar metals, contact with the ground, animal waste, decaying materials or wet absorptive materials.

The warranty does not apply if your panels are exposed to abnormally corrosive atmospheric conditions. Please see the warranty itself for details.

Another item to be aware of is that you, the buyer, are responsible for the condition of the material you receive. That is to say that if there is any damage you must report it immediately – before installation.

Common Sense Rules
There are also a number of common sense items included in the Fabral Roofing Warranty such as:

Keep vegetation from contacting panels;

Do not clean with an abrasive or chemical cleaner; and,

Keep dirt and gravel and prolonged moisture away from your panels, and, improper storage could nullify your warranty.

Also, be sure to keep all of your receipts so that you can show proof of purchase, source and date just in case anything comes up that may need Fabral's involvement.

The above warranty covers the following panels: Grandrib 3, Alu-Tuff II, 5V crimp, Prime Rib, Mighty Rib, and the Ultra Rib,

Grandrib 3 Plus, Alu-Tuff, 1 1/2" SSR, Climaguard, and Alu-Loc.
For these panels the brief Warranty summary is:Lifetime Film integrity warranty
30-year warranty against fade and chalk

On the Grandrib 3 Plus you will have a heavy duty galvanized coating for long-term corrosion resistance versus a standard coating on the Grandrib 3.

On the Aku Tuff you have a G90 Zinc Protective coating whereas the Alu Tuff II has a G60 Zinc Protective coating.

Multi-Purpose Panels
The Fabral Roofing Warranty is different for this profile than those above in several ways.

The Multi-Purpose Panel has a limited Twenty-Five (25) year paint coating warranty.

The warranty against Crack, Check, or Peel is also for 25 years.

Chalk in excess of a numerical rating of six (6) for vertical siding panels and roof panels for a period of ten (10) years.

Fade or change in color in excess of five (5) "NBS" units of color for vertical siding or in excess of seven (7) "NBS" units of color for roofing and for a period of 10 years not for 30 years as the above profiles.
