3. How is it installed, and can I do it myself?

Metal roof installation can be fairly simple, or it can be a nightmare. It depends! This is a huge question as installation very much depends on the type of metal roofing you are installing.

For example; if you are installing a no fuss galvanized sheeting over a storage shed you simply screw the panels down and you're good to go. You do need to be careful with the tension you put on the screws. On the other hand if you want to install a Decra metal roof with a roman tile look you'll need some training.

Can you do it yourself? Yes, given the right abilities, desire, training, proper tools and careful adherence to the installation instructions you certainly can. Keep in mind that the warranty of any metal roofing system is heavily dependent on proper installation according to the manufactures installation instruction.
