WISDOM !
Wisdom as it pertains to God, is three fold. It is seen in His works of creation, in preservation and in redemption through His Son crucified. Paul prayed, beginning in Eph 1: 17, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your heart enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. A personal relationship is ours . . . with God . . . for the receiving of his gift to us, by faith! Eph 2: 8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. How is a gift received - you simply accept it. Agree The first thing to do is to agree with scripture. In Romans 3: 23 it reads, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Can you accept the fact that you have done some things wrong in your life? Then, as politically incorrect, and Biblically accurate as it may be, you are a sinner. So simply accept that, agree with scripture! Turn Having recognized that you have done a few things wrong in your life now be willing to turn from that way of life - repent, turn from sin and to God. This is the beginning of wisdom . . . to fear God, that is to respect Him for who He is and what He has done and continues to do. 1 John 1: 9 says, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Forgiveness for A N Y T H I N G we've done is a great thing! What freedom! What peace is ours, from God! BELIEVE Believe that Jesus is who he says he is and that he died on the cross to pay the penalty for your sin. He gave his life for you, for me! 1 Peter 2: 24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to rightreousness. By his wounds you have been healed. John 3: 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. RECEIVE That's it! Agree with scripture that you, we, are all sinners, turn from your sin and turn to God believing he sent his Son as The way to salvation. And then, finally, receive his free gift. Simply receive this truth and God is there for you ready and willing to give you his free gift of salvation. John 1: 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name. (NASB) Romans 11: 33 Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! If this is new to you, or newly refound after some absence, I would recommend you read the book of John for a more thorough explanation of the Gospel of Jesus Chirst, God's only begotten Son. There you will see the Gospel in terms of His always being, his life, speaking, death, resurrection and return to be with God in heaven once again. Read this book, John, beginning each reading with a prayer that God would reveal Himself to you through His Holy Word. 5 minutes a day and you will be through the book in no time flat. You'll be glad you did, it will change your life! Unless otherwise noted all scripture is quoted from the English Standard Version
